At Tassie Smiles Dental our fees include the cost of a highly trained and skilled professional treating your teeth in a hygienic, comfortable environment. They also include the costs of up-to-date equipment, materials, staff, laboratory fees, infection control measures, premises, utilities and furnishings.

In Australia there is no such thing as a ‘recommended fee’ for any dental treatment. The average fees charged around Australia have been calculated by the Australian Dental Association. We have based the Tassie Smiles Dental fee structure on the average fee structure for Tasmania. We will provide you with an itemised account.

Health Funds set their rebates at a level that suits their commercial needs. Those rebates are not related to any recognised fee scale. The responsibility of adequately adjusting rebates lies with the Health Funds.

Tassie Smiles Dental has HICAPS facilities (Health Industries Claims and Payments Service). This is an electronic claims system for private health funds. This enables most health fund members to do a direct health fund claim with no paperwork. This means you only pay the gap on the day.
